چکیده

Despite the advances made in past 30 years laboratory diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB), only a small portion overall world population has benefitted. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommended use nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) to detect TB instead smear microscopy, since they can with greater precision, particularly patients paucibacillary disease and individuals living HIV. A broad range molecular detection are currently being developed evaluated, some for reference laboratories others peripheral medical care settings point-of-care. There been surge designed, manufactured, implemented countries high load, specifically meant locations that close patient. In terms drug susceptibility testing, NAAT next-generation sequencing may provide faster results than traditional phenotype culture. Further, or quantify cytokines released inflammatory process latent infection (LTBI), such as Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA), IL-6 other cytokines, depend, tuberculin skin (TST), on prevalence tested population. We herein review recent resistance anti-TB drugs.

Advances in the laboratory diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), the agent of human tuberculosis remains a leading cause of mortality globally. Its resurgence during the last two decades is a reflection of its opportunistic relationship with HIV. The challenges associated with the disease are enormous and often debilitating. The role of clinical and research laboratories is central and significant in this regard as prompt an...

Recent advances in the laboratory diagnosis of tuberculosis.

The laboratory plays a decisive role in diagnosing tuberculosis (TB) and the identification and drug sensitivity testing (DST) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. For a long time the laboratories used only microscopyand culture-based diagnosis, however, due to the slow growth of mycobacteria, these procedures may require 3-4 weeks or longer to yield results. It has been necessary to look for new and...

Diagnosis of Tuberculosis: Novel Laboratory Methods

Despite advances in medical sciences in recent years, tuberculosis remains a worldwide health problem. Although there are many laboratory methods to accelerate the diagnosis, a delay in the definitive diagnosis of the disease is still a major clinical problem. Due to the slow growth of the causative agent, (Mycobacterium tuberculosis), isolation, identification, and other clinically important m...

Advances in the diagnosis of tuberculosis infection.

One-third of the world-wide population currently presents latent tuberculosis infection (LTI). In Spain, TB is situated as the third disease of mandatory notification. The standard technique for the diagnosis of ITL is the tuberculin test (PPD), although its most important drawback is its specificity since the proteins used are not specific for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In recent years, resea...
